Covington Road [Base Game]
This is a WIP build for my base game only save file: Silent Pines. Covington Rd is a neighbourhood in the quiet, mysterious town of Twilight Bay (aka Newcrest). As you could have guessed, this world is inspired heavily by Twilight.
I'm working on new custom CC posters/signs for the Silent Pines save (all in one package file, dw!) and getting some cool graffiti to decorate the shopping plazas.
Love from, Silent Pines.

This is so cute. It's a little 1967 former firehouse that's been converted to a house in Kent, Washington. 3bds, 2ba, $650K. It still really looks like a firehouse, doesn't it?
Looks like the original office is still in the entrance.
Entering the combination living room/kitchen, we can see that the living room isn't very big. There's a whole row of closets for storage.
Looks like they also left the original fluorescent lighting fixtures.
The kitchen's a good size, but it's basic.
I'm guessing that this is a family room between the kitchen and the hall to the bedrooms.
The hall has a some clothing hooks.
The first bath is a small shower room.
The primary bedroom has a built-in desk.
A nice brick feature wall.
Bath #2 is also a shower room.
Bedrooms 2 & 3.
They say that there are 3 bedrooms, but this is a 4th. It has a built-in corner desk, but maybe it doesn't have a closet so it can't be counted as a bedroom.
This is interesting. I thought that at least part of the garage was converted to a house, but it looks as if nothing's been touched.
The home is on a .48 acre lot and the garage has front and back doors. Much of the property is a parking lot.
There's some grass on the side, though.
Cute. The original sign is still up.

Smoke & Mirrors
When I was eight years old, my mother started taking me to a psychologist.
Each Tuesday morning for I think a couple of years, Mom would wake me up early so I could go in to work with her instead of sauntering my way around the block to school. It was fun for me, I got to help her firm’s mailroom girl on her rounds through the partners’ offices delivering the morning’s mail or copies of the Wall Street Journal. I got to buy sausage biscuits from the food truck parked just outside the building’s front door on our way into the building. Then at some point during the morning, Mom and I would leave to go several blocks away to the psychologist’s office for my appointment.
I remember I asked Mom once why I was doing this. I distinctly remember her saying that it was because I wouldn’t keep my room clean.
I took this at face value. It seemed odd but okay, I’m going to the shrink because I wasn’t keeping my room clean.
You take a lot of things at face value when you’re a kid, especially when it comes from your parents. Mom probably could have said it was because I had green eyes and I’d have shrugged and gone with it.
And that’s how it stood, for close to fifty years. I went to a psychologist for a couple years as a kid, nothing ever came of it, and it was largely forgotten. I’ve been to a lot of other therapists since then, with no substantial results.
A few days ago in another incidence of re-processing my past and present, I finally realized what was really going on.
I was in 4th grade, that year I was eight years old. As such, I was under the care of a saintly teacher by the name of Mrs. Covington.
I remember her very vaguely as being white-haired, wearing large glasses and probably long since past retirement age. I realize now that she must have had decades of experience as an elementary school teacher and had seen probably thousands of children of all stripes. She was “oldschool” in the truest sense, with a kind and perceptive soul. What she must have seen in me was an odd little girl with an obsession for Star Wars who awkwardly tried and repeatedly failed to make friends, who was good at spelling but rarely spoke, who spent a lot of time staring out the nearest window. Mrs. Covington must have realized there was something wrong with me, but had no specific word to call it and no idea what it was.
This was 1977. We wouldn’t know the word “autism” in the United States for another seventeen years. And I wouldn’t be officially called by that word for another thirty years beyond that.
But Mrs. Covington knew there was something wrong, and that little girl desperately needed a friend. So she took another little girl in the class aside and asked her if she would make friends with the odd, quiet little girl that nobody liked.
We were best friends – she was my only friend, and became so much more, things I am still discovering – until graduation and college and the sharp words of hatred separated us twelve years later. I’ll call her here by the nickname I gave her, Ace.
What I’ve only pieced together in the last few days was that Mrs. Covington must have spoken to my mother, told her there was something wrong with me, and urged Mom to take me to be evaluated by a child psychologist. Mrs. Covington must have been the source of those Tuesday mornings when I thought I was going to a doctor because I couldn’t keep my room clean.
In actual fact, I was going because my father had developed Multiple Sclerosis, my parents had abruptly divorced so he could get financial assistance so he could get into a nursing home, I’d become a latch-key kid and beyond all that I was too quiet and too strange and could not make or keep friends.
Mrs. Covington had done God’s work, she’d seen a little girl in trouble, and alerted my Mom to get me help. Mom tried, she’d done what she thought would help. But it was the beginning of that long road of wrong answers that never satisfied the questions.
And that little girl Mrs. Covington asked to make friends with me? That’s the funny thing. She was an answer that didn’t get realized until another set of dots connected. I didn’t have the words for that either back then, I didn’t even know it was possible for two girls to be in love, I didn’t even know it could be possible until decades later. But the emotions were there long since. I loved her desperately – but in true autistic style I didn’t realize she hated me until we graduated high school together.
Sometimes I don’t see the forest for the trees.
Ever since I was diagnosed I’ve been furious that no one ever realized there was something wrong with me. But someone did. Mrs. Covington saw I was in trouble, but she had no way of knowing what it was because we didn’t have words or concepts for it yet. You can’t know what you don’t know. It wasn’t malice. It was simple lack of knowledge. Mom knew there was something wrong, but the shrink couldn’t call it anything but depression. Given what was happening to me at the time, it wasn’t even an unlikely call. But it was wrong.
It was dumb, blind luck – a random YouTube video and increasingly frantic web searches – that gave me the right answer. The real answer. The answer that finally, decisively fit.

TVDU and Geography
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/02263e7355fa3eb917b0b72fcfa09887/0cf08d24d91e901d-b0/s540x810/e5af9ec9f1593d62e07d269a28818887aefe4580.jpg)
Yes, I'm about to rant about geography. Because in a world of make-believe vampires, if you are going to set it in the real world, guess what real world laws apply. Like geography.
As I'm writing the future chapters of The Great War, I'm having to make some changes because the writers of TVDU just completely ignored geography in order to fit the plot they wanted.
A lot of people probably don't realize how far away Virginia and New Orleans are from each other. But I'm originally from New Orleans and travel back multiple times a year, and I currently live in the Virginia area. Meaning I'm well aware of just how far away these two locations are from eachother and how difficult it is to travel. I really think the writers forget that Mystic Falls isn't actually in Covington, Georgia (which is still a 7 hour drive from New Orleans). Or that they both aren't located in the same town...
I'm sorry, but you're telling me that these two (Finn and Elijah) went on a 14 hour road trip together. Sure, you can say they flew and rented a car for the rest of it. But that's Elijah's car! I'm supposed to believe Lucien kidnapped Freya, drove her 14 hours and then waited for Finn and Elijah to find them and then drive themselves 14 hours to meet up in Mystic Falls.
It's the same thing in season 5. Hayley just pops up to the boarding school and picks up Hope and they have a silent car ride. Hope even says, "seven hours of hostile silence is punishment enough." And then they send Hope back and Freya goes and visits her. And let's not forget when Klaus, Elijah, and Hope just pop back up there for the day, only to be back in New Orleans the next episode. Traveling with an unconscious Klaus? Again, sure maybe they flew. But that's still not an easy journey. Mystic Falls is not located near an airport and the New Orleans airport is not the easiest to get to.
It's just little things like this, which would be so easy to verify if they cared even a little bit that make me believe the writers just didn't care.
And I know people are going to say I have to let things like this go because it's a show about vampires. But I refuse to be that lazy in my own story and it's making it hard to keep certain cannon events in place when the writers were so lazy.

Julie Molina expected many things on her impromptu road trip to Texas. She expected Flynn to be confused but ultimately supportive; she expected to relax and gain a new perspective; and she expected (or at least hoped) to rediscover the music she’d lost over the past year. What she did not expect was to be bunking with cranky rancher Luke Patterson, or the mysterious (and quite possibly magical) karaoke bar that would lead them on an adventure full of new friends, dangerous enemies, fun music, and a whole lot of love.
Yeehaw, cowfolk! Let’s go!

WITH: @kairaxjoshi LOCATION: kaira's apartment
They had seen each other last when Ahalya helped her move into her apartment. Since then, however, the lunch that they had promised to grab was pending which was why she had taken it upon herself to invite her neighbor out. However, rather than to grab greasy bar food, she opted for a sweeter delight to celebrate Kaira officially starting her New Year in Covington. Cursing Mr. Nussbaum’s door on her way up because he had once again tried to leave their deliveries outside ( granted they were piling up in front of his door ), her mood brightened as soon as she stood in front of her door and knocked, greeted by her new and favorite neighbor. “Surprise, I come bearing dessert.”
Walking into the apartment, she flourished the bag of various ice cream flavors that she’d grabbed from Scoops. “We have a little bit of a backdoor deal,” she said as though they were dealing in products more nefarious than ice cream and fresh deli meats. “I give them discounted Prosciutto and they give me a few free pints when I visit. So take your pick. I’ve brought Mint Chocolate Chip, Pistachio, Rocky Road, and Chocolate Fudge Brownie.” Yes, that last one was her favorite given the many, many layers of chocolate upon chocolate. Casting a glance around the place, surveying how she’d furnished her apartment, Ahalya appreciated the décor with an impressed smile. “No one would say that you just moved here. Meanwhile if you saw my room, you’d think I was moving out or something.”

Hi, SO SORRY about how long this took, been swamped! But some more Holograms for you! Julie and Bobby are... supposed to start actually kinda talking in this scene, but they're not cooperating much so far...
Julie stared out the window, wilfully ignoring the tension in the air. It wasn’t actually silent, LA never was regardless of the time of day or night, but neither she nor Bobby had made any attempt at conversation beyond checking directions in the 20 minutes they’d been on the road. The boys had all fallen asleep right away, Alex snoring softly and Reggie practically lying across Luke’s lap.
She could tell Bobby was stealing glances at her every so often, probably because she was doing the same thing. There were suddenly a million questions running through her mind about this weird guy who was an ‘intern’ but also apparently related to Caleb Covington? And was somehow set up to run HGC Records in the future? But hated his job? And, on a more personal note, she couldn’t help but wonder what he meant about ‘knowing a lot about grief’. As much as he’d mostly been a jerk so far, a part of her wondered if he’d get what she meant if she brought up her mom and how music felt after losing her. But that was also a super rude thing to just ask someone, right?
(Send me a number and I'll write that many words on my WIP and show you!)
#legolas tag#julie and the phantoms#jatp#jatp jem and the holograms au#ugh they really have so much in common if they'd just TALK to each other XD

bio.
Amelia Roberts was born on the side of the road in a rundown truck to two people who were not ready to be parents again. Second born and only girl, she was a spitfire from the beginning. She had to be in order to survive in her household. Her father, a drunk narcissistic asshole always brought his friends around which caused a lot of unnecessary trauma to the young girl. Her mouth was a defense mechanism that sparred her and got her into more trouble than it did help her. Her mother, a wine drinker, always told her that she wished she was never born. Life was not all rainbow and sunshine in the Weir household.
Her parents fought constantly and never did they fight in private. Amelia was always around when it happened and that was what she thought love was supposed to be like. Her older brother, by a few years, would often bring home a plethora of girls - and the occasional guy, but don’t tell their father - and he would act like a spitting image of their father. She loved her brother but she hated that he took after their parents. She was glad when her mother seemingly left them when Amelia was eight. At least she didn’t have to hear them fighting any longer.
As Amelia got older, she started running the streets and getting into trouble especially with the boy next door, Liam Granger. They both came from pretty tough backgrounds and they found solace within one another. With rooms facing each other, they came up with their own secret language when they needed the other one. Whether it to be going out of their homes in the middle of the night or if one needed to get away from their home; they were there for each other through it all. They had a very toxic relationship from the beginning but they were also the product of their own environment. They fought but they loved even harder.
When they got into high school, they dated off and on. They couldn’t decide whether they wanted or be together or not so they constantly got together to then break up. It wasn’t until their junior year where things started to get serious. There were talks of leaving this small town and as soon as graduation came, Amelia wanted to be gone. She wanted Liam to go with her and when he said no and told her to go, she did just that. He broke her heart but she was one to spite someone so she moved all the way to the Massachusetts where she got into Harvard law school. Even though she came from a tough background, she worked her ass off in school so she could make something for herself.
Law school was hard but she persevered and eventually got her Juris Degree. Then came the bar exam which she passed in the first go round. Eventually, she found herself working for Harding Mazzotti LLP as a first time lawyer. The work was rough and some days she didn’t think she could do it but then she thought about her home life and that she was determined to be something great. She didn’t get out of Covington just to become nothing.
Over the next few years, she continued her work at the firm and didn’t do much of anything afterwards. She stayed to herself and went on random dates but she was more focused on her work than anything. While her friends got married and had babies, she became the fun aunt. Her idea of marriage and love had been tainted from the start and she wasn’t about to let it get in her way again. Instead, she slept around but kept her head under lock and key.
On the eve of her 30th birthday, she got a call from a friend in Covington that told her that her brother had been arrested on some drug charges and they needed her. Even though she wasn’t ready to go home, she had to for him. She could only give legal advice but nothing more than that. After his bail was paid, she decided to stick around until she could find a lawyer to get his charges cleared. Thankfully, she found a good lawyer and his charges were dropped due to the cops not reading him his Miranda Rights and she was going to leave to go back home when he asked her to stay.
Reluctantly, she said yes and had movers pack up her apartment and deliver her stuff to a storage unit. She moved back home with her dad and brother where she tried so hard to escape from but your roots will always drag you down to the ground. Life felt like it had frozen in Covington and while she may have gotten out, nothing about the town had changed. Part of her knew that she didn’t belong in this town anymore but she quickly fell back into her old ways.
It was a couple weeks that she had been in town when she signed to be a member of the Georgia bar association. She got sworn in by the Superior Court and soon became a practicing lawyer. Soon, she got a job working at Perry Mason law firm and fit right in as one of their defense attorneys. It wasn’t an easy road due to her reputation in the town and who her family was but they gave her a chance and that was all that she needed to begin again.
While her being in town is bringing back all of her insecurities and memories, she feels more at home than she did in Massachusetts. It wasn’t an easy transition and it’s something that she still has to deal with everyday. She is trying to hard to be better than where she came from but she’s having a hard time fighting the demons that threatened to keep her there so many years ago.

With reinforcements in the form of his sister back in town, Wyatt felt more at ease returning to parts of his life he’d put on pause that were waiting for him. So for the first time in months, he’d actually taken time away from Covington to return to his home in D.C. After all, if six months didn’t produce any results, the case wasn’t about to be cracked in seven days. If it was up to him, he’d have taken more than the week away to sort everything out. But he could sense the anxiety that if he left, he would once again never return in his mother’s voice. Any longer than a week and she might have sent a chaperon with him to ensure he came back. Either way, Wyatt knew that until things were figured out here, he couldn’t focus completely on work anyways. Driving back, he noted the car of someone else stopped on the side of the road. And while whether he stopped to help or mock would depend on the person, he pulled beside the woman who he recognized as falling in the former category. Parking at the side behind her, he stepped out and approached the car. “Hey,” he said with a whisper of a smile. It had truly been years since he’d seen her. Maybe last at Tess’s wedding? “Need some help? Or a ride?” He was no mechanic so it wasn’t like he could offer much more, but better than being stranded alone waiting for a tow truck.

okay so i have a ufo story. some years ago i dont remember how long, some time before the pandemic probably like 2016? we were coming home from vacation in tennessee and when we were about at the kentucky ohio line somewhere before you get to covington and newport on 75. i didnt even know anything about ufos then. i saw this over a field it was moving with jerky but fluid movements kind of like how bees fly.
then it shined a beam down into the field it turned on like a flashlight and looked like this, sort of blueish white
i remember when we stopped at a rest stop i was looking at the sky to see if i could find it again. i didnt tell anyone about it until a few weeks ago. i told my grandma and she said my grandpa had a ufo experience like this once. so i asked him without telling him what i saw or showing him a picture. he said he saw three white lights in a triangle shape with a red light in the middle above the road in front of his car. it shined a hazy blueish beam down right in front of the car and he said it was the freakiest thing hes ever seen. so i definitely believe in ufos now because how else would we have seen the same thing without even knowing about each others sightings.
edit: i just texted the second picture to my grandma, she showed it to him and he said yes that its like what he saw
